General Update

October 17th, 2009 • By Kelly :: The Good Guy, The Kate Logan Affair

This is just a small update. I didn’t want to overload yesterday’s post but according to many sources, Alexis’ movie The Good Guy which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year will be released in theatres in March next year. Roadside Attractions has claimed the rights for relases, and hopefully we will see some international releases too! We will most likely be seeing a release of more promos and stills as well.

In other news, the lovely Paola from Gala Films (which is producing The Kate Logan Affair) has been in contact with me and has told me that location shoots are finished and have now moved to studio and closed sets. Filming finishes on Sunday, and believes that Alexis will be doing some sightseeing up here before heading home. Most likely to start shooting The Conspirator.

New Project & KLA Photos

Thanks to Chaz for giving me the heads up on Alexis’ new project! Alexis has joined the cast of The Conspirator which is a drama about the aftermath of President Lincoln’s assassination. Also joining the cast is Justin Long, Evan Rachel Wood, James McAvoy and a handful of other famous faces. I can’t wait for this project. The director is Robert Redford. The article states that filming started on Monday in Savannah, Georgia but I don’t think Alexis will be filming until after this week as she is still shooting The Kate Logan Affair.
In talking of KLA, I have added a bunch of photos from the set thanks to cinoche.com. There is also an article (in French) which talks about the shooting of the movie.

The scene shot last Wednesday in Chambly occurs early in the film. “It’s a scene that allows us to have elements of understanding the character, a young policewoman, Kate Logan,” according to Noel Mitrani. “This is a very proud person who does not like to be at fault.”

Why Alexis Beldel? “I needed an actress who does more than adolescence, and less than adulthood. It’s very difficult to find. When I found Alexis, she was still in this interim period, which lasts very little in a woman where she was a little innocence of youth, but it is not yet a woman. ”

Who is Kate Logan? “This is a young policewoman who loves the idea of being an authority figure, but it is not very down to earth. At first, she accidentally stops a man who resembles a wanted criminal, but she must let go, and they meet again … The story evolves from there, but I’m not supposed to talk about … “

KLA Article & News

The Montreal Gazette has an article on The Kate Logan Affair. If you follow us on twitter, you may recall us re-tweeting Brendan Kelly who wrote this article.
The article talks about the director of KLA, Noel Mitrani as well as more information on the plot of the movie. The article also states that filming will finish up next Monday. I actually live in Chambly and almost next to the filming site. They are filming at a motel, and i noticed that they had changed the motel sign so i took a picture of it. it’s kinda bad because i was driving at the same time… they’ve been here for almost a week now, i think they will be paking up soon!

I also want to thank Paola of Gala Films for sending me the press release of KLA. If anyone ever has anything to contribute, it would be greatly appreciated!

More news of The Kate Logan Affair have come up and so has an on set photo which I’ve added to the gallery. The filming of KLA is currently taking place in Chambly in Quebec, Canada.
I have used a mix of Google translator and my brain to translate this as it is all in French. xD

So to an American actress that production turned to the role of Kate Logan. Alexis Bledel, revealed by his role in Gilmore Girls, has quickly established. “I wanted an actress with one hand and a woman young side. I saw a dozen girls, but when I saw Alexis, I knew this would be it. I was lucky that she likes the project, “he said.
“She has just entered the police, works in a small town and stops a man she takes for a criminal (Laurent Lucas) ,” says Alexis Bledel.

I have found more news concerning the shooting of The Kate Logan Affair! Firstly, there is a Wikipedia page for the movie. ;)
The director of KLA is French-Canadian writer and director Noël Mitrani. Filming has already began last Tuesday in Ste-Adele. Alexis, as you may have already guess, plays Kate Logan, the leading role in the movie.
Filming began in the Laurentians and will continue in surrounding areas including Montebello, Chambly and Montreal. Filming is expected to end 19th October.
The official sypnosis is:

Located in a resort in Canada limited the action of “The Kate Logan Affair” tells the story of Benedict Gando (Lucas), a French framework working in the insurance stopped by Kate Logan (Bledel), a young policewoman who is taken for a wanted rapist. Annoyed that he reveals his mistake to his superiors, Kate tries to seduce Benedict which succumbs to his advances. Benedict has no idea where the path leads this innocent flirtation and realizes he is caught in a relentless machine that not only plunged into a terrible situation but also change his life forever.

I can’t wait for the movie to come out, and fingers-crossed we will be able to get on set pictures! The movie will be distributed internationally(!) by Séville/E1 Movies Entertainment Canada.

The Kate Logan Affair & Sin City 2

Gilmore Girls News just pointed out that Alexis will be filming The Kate Logan Affair. According to Heidi Levitt, the casting director, filming should’ve started this month already or will be starting next month in Montreal, Canada. The interview that Alexis mentioned the filming was posted on this site way back when the interview was posted on PopStar’s site, but I never got time to read it. How unfortunate :P
This is the sypnosis posted on Heidi’s site:

The Kate Logan Affair is about a young psychologically unstable young police woman named Kate Logan and a married Frenchman who find themselves caught up in a dramatic twisted affair.

There is also more news on Sin City 2! MTV talked to actor Clive Owen (who played Dwight in Sin City) about the film. Here’s what he had to say:

“I’m hearing it might be next year,” Owen told MTV News. “I heard that from a very good source… recently.”
However, Owen wouldn’t reveal where he heard the news (”Maybe one of them,” he grinned, when asked if it was Miller or Rodriguez), and he didn’t let fans’ hopes get too carried away. According to the actor, he hasn’t read a script for the film yet.
“I had a great time on the first one. It was a stunning film,” said Owen. ” I think it was an absolutely extraordinary achievement, what [Rodriguez] did with that film. It is a genuinely original movie.”
